- The Daytona International Speedway is definitely the most famous
attraction here. Known as the "World Center of Racing", the speedway hosts
motorsports events at various times during the year. Thirty-minute Speedway Tours showcase
Daytona's unique, high-banked 2.5 trioval course and a 3.56-mile road course...with plenty

- The Daytona Beach Kennel Club features pari-mutual wagering and greyhound

- The Peabody Auditorium located adjacent to the Ocean Center on the

- Ponce De Leon Inlet Lighthouse is now the site of a lighthouse museum as

- The Daytona Flea and Farmer's Market covers 40 acres and offers hundreds

- The Boardwalk features amusements, arcades and snack food. The beach is
open and accessible year-round.
- Angel & Phelps Chocolate Factory is downtown Daytona's newest
attraction and offers 30 minute tours for chocolate lovers. Call for information: (904)

- Sugar Mill Gardens contains the ruins of an old English sugar mill. The
site is surrounded by 12 acres of botanical gardens, complete with flowering trees, holly,
magnolia and other flora.
- Tomoka State Park is located just north of Ormond Beach. The Area,
inhabited 400 years ago by the Timucua Indians, is a perfect location for fishing,
camping, hiking and boating. Escorted boat trips along the Tomoka River are also available
for a small fee. There are many other parks and wildlife areas in the region for nature
lovers to enjoy.
- Deep Sea Fishing Charters depart from various marinas daily. A half-day
trip costs as little as $25 per adult on the charter boats and includes equipment, bait,
etc.
- The Kennedy Space Center and historic St. Augustine are less than an
hour's drive away.
- The Canaveral National Seashore is part of a barrier island offering 24
miles of undeveloped beach and wetland enviroment encompassing over 57,600 acres. The park
offers sanctuary for over 1000 species of plants, 300 species of birds, including 14
threatened or endangered species. Established January 5, 1975 to protect the largest
stretch of coastline on the east coast of Florida.
Visitation is highest January through August; lowest September through December. The North
District - New Smyrna Beach, is located about 20 miles south of Daytona Beach accessible
via State Route A1A in New Smyrna Beach. Exit # 84 A off of I-95 or about 20 minutes south
on US Hwy 1 from Daytona. Florida South District access is from Titusville, Florida .
Daily, summer 6 a.m to 8 p.m ; daily winter: 6 a.m to 6 p.m. South District may be closed
because of Kennedy Space Center Operations.
